Florence A. Giannetti
Florence A. Giannetti, age 95, of Toledo, formerly of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away Tuesday, April 28th, 2009, one week after the passing of her closest sister, Mary, age 91. Flo was born in New Brunswick , NJ and resided in NJ until the 2002 death of her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph S. Giannetti, Sr. At that time she relocated to Ohio. Her time in Toledo was a joy to her, frequently seeing her grandchildren, Joseph and Jeff every time they were in town, as well as spending regular quality time with her oldest son, Joseph S. Giannetti, Jr., loving daughter-in-law, Lorrie and Lorrie's family, the Lingo's. For her first two years in Toledo, Flo resided at Alexis Gardens, where she "lived like a princess", enjoying the company of many new friends. Her next residence was at Crestview, a wonderful facility with caring staff members, who according to Flo were "Great ! They couldn't be nicer !" When Crestview closed, Flo was welcomed at Oakleaf Village and once again received loving care. The Oakleaf staff, and her Toledo family ensured that Flo's last years were special ones. In January, she celebrated her 95th birthday with her two sons and daughter-in-law, and this was a very special occasion for Flo. Thanks to the Oakleaf staff for their kindness and care. Flo always appreciated everything they did for her.
In addition to family members mentioned above, Flo is survived by her youngest son, Fred (Donna) Giannetti, grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Giannetti, special niece, Connie Pappas, Connie's daughter, Natalie and special friend Debbi Leavitt. Additionally she will be missed by many NJ and Toledo friends and relatives.
Flo was a wonderful wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and friend; she always enjoyed dressing up and looking sharp, and she did so until the end. Two things stand out in her life: her family's welfare was always first, and no one ever left her table hungry (even if they wanted to) !
After a private family gathering in Toledo, a Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Fair Lawn, NJ, with burial services following the mass.
