Fern Jane Murphy

Fern Jane Murphy, age 84 went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 1, 2004. She was born February 11, 1920 in Toledo. Jane graduated from Waite High School. She married Arthur E. Murphy April 26, 1940. Jane worked for LaSalles, later Macy's then Elder Beerman. She worked as a volunteer at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center for many years. Jane was a very talented artist, seamstress and gardener. She also loved animals and enjoyed traveling.

She was the beloved mother of, James (Marty) Murphy; Sandra (Jan) Murphy and Barbara (Glenn) Murphy Kistler. She has 7 grandchildren, Kevin (Chandra) Murphy; Ryan (Cheryl) Murphy; Laura DiMattei; Christen (Scott) Chamberlain; Benjamin (Heather) Michael; Daniel (Erin) Michael; Erin (Matt) Bucklew; nine great grandchildren, Shannon and Calvin Murphy; Ellie Berndt; Charlotte and Lola DiMattei; Nicholas and Andrew Chamberlain; Sera Michael and Luke Murphy; brothers, Russell (Katie) Carr; Richard (Bonnie) Carr; Harold (June) Carr.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Fern Carr; brother, Wesley Carr and husband, Arthur E. Murphy. Her passing will leave a deep void in the lives of her loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 3-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
