Farell M. Clark, Sr.
Farell M. Clark, Sr., age 78 of Toledo passed away Thursday, October 7th, 2004 in Flower Hospital. He was born April 4th, 1926 to Richard and Lula (Townson) Clark in Peterson, Alabama. Farell was a WWII U.S Navy Veteran, SeaBee Unit. He retired from General Motors in 1981 after 23 years. Farell was a member of the UAW Local #14 and the Church of God, Inc. on Ketcham St. He also worked as a Police Officer with Northstar for many years. Farell loved Bluegrass Gospel music. He was well known for traveling throughout the United States with his family playing in "FM Clark and the Faith Singers" a group made up of his sons and daughters. Farell also enjoyed time fishing and hunting. His grandchildren grew fond of the many wooden rocking chairs he crafted for them over the years. Farell was a very loving and giving man whose memories will be cherished by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Farell was preceded in death by his brother, Barney Clark. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edith F. (Boswell) Clark; children, Farell M. (Loretta) Clark, Jr. of Curtis, OH.; Judy (Dennis) Fall; Kay (Dennis) Burghardt; Charlotte Frost; Polly (Don) Burghardt of Delta, OH.; Diane (Richard) Page; Marvin (Cecilia) Clark of Erie, MI. and Dennis Clark; 28 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Smith of AL.; brother-in-law, Samuel (Bellie Ruth) Boswell of AL. and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Monday from 4-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brother Frank Stevenson. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
