Falor S. "Sonny" Dunn, age 91, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Center. He was born on August 29, 1925 to Albert and Adeline (Vincent) Dunn. Falor graduated from Whitmer High School. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on December 1, 1943. During his time in the service he worked as a crew chief on the B-29's and B-26's. He entered into the Aviation Cadet Pilot Training Program. He was unable to complete his training when the program was suspended. Falor had the opportunity to fly a Sturgeon Bi-plane. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1946.
Following his time in the military, Falor worked various jobs. He became a land surveyor and later worked as an industrial surveyor. During his retirement he worked for the Pinkerton Security Firm.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles with the Dux Motorcycle Club and was one of the founding members. He married Arcola "Cody" (Moores) Dunn on November 13, 1950, who proceded in him death on December 24, 2012. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wilbert, Harold and Robert; sisters, Gloria and Beatrice.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Colleen (John) Krajcar, Jayne (Carlos) Alvarado and Scott (Rebecca) Dunn; grandchildren, Jason (Dejah) and Lauren Krajcar; MaryCecilia Alvarado; Diana (Pat) Bergman; Alicia, Belinda and Teresa Alvarado, Aaron (Elisa) Dunn and Katie (Spencer) Berdan; great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Zachary and Jacob Bergman; Piper Krajcar; Rylan and Eisley Berdan; Jackson Dunn and Ophelia Brzuchalski; brothers, Donald (Shirley) Dunn; sisters in law, Vivian Dunn, Lulu Dersch and Fern (Tom) Hutchinson.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Jim Dudley officiating.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Center.
