Evelyn Frances Oster, age 82, of Toledo passed away Sunday, November 7th, 2004 in the Toledo Hospital. She was born June 23, 1922 to Leonard and Lottie (Skuza) Domanski in Cleveland, Ohio. Evelyn graduated from Holy Name High School in Cleveland in 1939 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1980. Evelyn worked as a Social Worker and Administrative Assistant with the Catholic church for many years. Evelyn will be remembered for her many interests in several charitable groups including Sunshine Inc. and the Arc of Prince George's County, Maryland. In her spare time Evelyn enjoyed cooking, reading, needlecrafts of all kinds, gardening and traveling but most of all the company of her family and friends. She was also a member of B.G. State University Alumni Association.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Philip R. Oster; brother, Jerome Domanski; sister, Letitia O'Sickey and granddaughter, Sarah Ellen Petit . She is survived by her loving daughters, Judith (Joseph Mensah) Goodman; Virginia (Ted Wood) Black and Elizabeth (Patrick) Petit; grandchildren, Kurt (Cynthia) Goodman and Rebecca Petit; great grandchildren, Andrea and Kristopher Goodman; sister, Margaret Orlowe; very special friend, Rev. Paul Dorley and many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws and treasured friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Arc of Prince George's County/ The Sarah Petit Fund, 1401 McCormick Dr. Largo, MD. 20774 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
