Evelyn Lewis

Evelyn Lewis, age 98, of Toledo, passed away June 21, 2024 at Heatherdowns Rehabilitation and Residential Care Center. She was born August 25, 1925 in Dublin, GA to Claude and Johnniemae (Curvin) Whitehead. Evelyn loved to go to church, was a prayer warrior and an avid bowler.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Parker Lewis, Sr.; siblings, Clifton Whitehead, Pauline Carswell, Connell Whitehead, Lindsey Whitehead, Azree Hines; step-sons, Anthony Lewis and Parker Lewis II; grandson, Ardenial Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Calloway; step-children, Stanley (Shirley) Lewis, Beverly Lewis and Sylvia Lewis; daughters-in-law, Patricia Lewis and Neloise Lewis; grandchildren, Xavier Knowles, Gary Lewis, Shellie Knobles, Corey Lewis, Jerrod Lewis, Velma Lewis, Parker Lewis, Jr., Crystal Lewis; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Maude L. Reese, brother, Claudell (Melody) Whitehead both of Toledo, Ohio; sister-in-law , Aleada Whitehead of Toledo, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive guests, Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at United Missionary Baptist Church, 2705 Monroe Street, Toledo, OH 43606. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
