Evelyn L. Unger, age 91, of Oak Leaf Village in Toledo, passed away Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania. She was born August 16th, 1920 to Martin and Lydia Haffner in Cleveland. Evelyn worked for a short time for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. She married Richard J. Unger on November 8th, 1945 in Cleveland. While her son attended Whitmer High School, Evelyn was involved with the Whitmer Band Boosters concession stand. Her true passion in life was taking care of her family and putting their needs before her own.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 66 years, Richard J. Unger; sons, Dick Unger and Ron (Carol) Unger; grandchildren, Kristy, Keri, Amanda and Ronald; great-grandchildren, Maddux, Macy and Cameron and brother, Ray (Dolores) Haffner. Preceding her in death are her parents.
At the request of the family all services for Evelyn will be private.
