Evelyn Marie Garrett, age 65, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, March 25, 2022 in Toledo, Ohio. Evelyn was born in Saginaw Michigan on June 5th, 1956.
Evelyn grew up in Saginaw, Michigan where she graduated from Carlton High School and Delta College. Out of a loving marriage union, Evelyn had three children whom she treasured.
She spent many years as a home maker providing a loving home where all were welcome, and many happy memories were made. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends (many, many friends). Whether times were good or bad she offered everyone support and good humor to lighten the day! Evelyn was a wonderful cook and known by many for her delicious specialties like, cheesecake, potato salad and chili to name a few. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, shared memories and good food.
Evelyn loved Jehovah our God, her Family and Friends. For over 20 years, Evelyn followed the example set by Jesus Christ, preaching "The Good News of The Kingdom" showing love, offering hope and encouragement to others. She was a dedicated baptized, Christian and member of the Jehovah's Witness Worldwide Christian Organization. Evelyn attended the Bay City (North) Michigan and Lexington (University) Kentucky Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Evelyn was also a beloved grandmother to 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one very special friend, Joanne Jamilah Bilal; and many special nieces and nephews who referred to her lovingly as "Teeter".
Preceding her in death were here parents, John and Lillian Long and Albert Johnson; grandmothers, Evelyn Johnson and Gertrude Earl Dobison-Johnson; two very close aunts, Agatha Johnson and Mamie Johnson; and her uncles, Urban Kenneth Johnson, Osborne Johnson, Ronald Johnson and Sylvester Johnson and aunt, Agnes Johnson.
Evelyn was such a loving and kind person that she had many cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members that were very near & dear to her, too many to name but they all know how much she loved them.
