Evelena "Penny" Williams

Evelena "Penny" Cosper-Williams was born on January 20, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to Ernestine (Mays) and Lyod Cosper. 

Evelena was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her daughter and grandchildren. In her free time she loved shopping, JC Penny's was her favorite store; spending time with her grandchildren; playing her numbers; and going to Mr. G's with her grandkids. She also loved watching boxing and her grandson's football highlights. 

Evelena worked for Toledo Building Services for many years until her battle with cancer in May of 2023. She loved the Lord and she was ready. On August 26, 2024, in the comfort of her own home with her family by her bedside, she went peacefully and blessed. 

Evelena was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 1 brother. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mashika (Robert Sr. "Action"); granddaughter, Alaza; grandson, Robert Jr.; sister, Pam Cosper (who she loved dearly); brothers, Isaac and Wardell Cosper; lifelong companion of 26 years, Carlton Richardson; sister/friend of 58 years, Kim Nedd; close friend, Gwen Winters; bonus daughter, Angel Mulligan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

The family would like to give a special thank you to cousin Pastor Perry Waddell, Zoemeekia Miller, Roni Jamison, Lashonda and Shawnta Washington, and the loving and caring staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. 

LETTER TO MY GRANNY

Hey granny,

This is your grandson. The family loves and misses you. What are we going to do without your beautiful, contagious smile? Who's going to take me to Mr. G's Barn? I'm going to miss our ice cream trips, granny. You were my bestfriend. Even though I used to get on your nerves, you still loved your grandbabies. It won't be the same, granny, but I'll be OK because I got you watching over me and the family. You're forever going to be in our hearts. Now I'm sorry for talking your ear off. Granny, I love you my heart. Get your rest. I'll see you again some day.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. and funeral services will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at  10:00 a.m.   All services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, OH 43623 (419-473-0300).
