Eva J. Cuprys, age 97, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Ebeid Hospice. She was born on March 2, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late William and Verna (Robson) Jones.
Eva went to Holland High School, where she graduated in 1944. The youngest of seven children, Eva married Ignatius Cuprys in 1945 and celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing in 1996. They spent many years enjoying their cottage on Lake Erie. In 1956, they moved to Eagle Point Colony in Rossford, Ohio. Eva was active in the Rossford Garden Club, where she won awards for her beautiful flower arrangements. Also, she was an extraordinary seamstress, making her daughters prom and wedding dresses; something they will cherish forever. Her love, kind soul, and smile will forever be missed. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later…
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Paul, Diana, Mary Ann Roberts (Mel), Laurie Bick, Jodi Kujawa (Gene), James, Cris Lewandowski, Todd (Robin), 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great grand-children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her husband, Ignatius; children, Joan Aldrich, John and Scott; all of her siblings; and a grandchild, Cindy.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
A private family burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to Ignatius.
