Eugene W. "Gene" Rohn, age 84 of Perrysburg, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on November 9th, 1926 to George and Lucille (Wilsey) Rohn in Detroit, Michigan. Gene was a proud Marine, serving his country in World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He was a true patriot to his country, he loved the idea that his name appeared in the National World War II Museum. He retired from Con-Agra, formerly known as Hunt-Wesson after 30 years of service as an Area Director. Gene was the loving father of 11 children, seven boys and four girls. He enjoyed playing euchre, pinochle and dining out with his family. His family will dearly miss him and his wonderful sense of humor that he shared with anyone that he could.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, George, Rick and Bruce Rohn, Debbie Dusseau, Diane Poole, Shirley (John) Novotny and son, Dennis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and children, Daniel, Terry, Gene and Doris.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m . Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by the Lucas County Veterans Burial Corp.
