Ethel A. Wood

Ethel A. Wood, age 86 of Toledo passed away, Tuesday, August 10th, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born March 16th, 1924 to Balasz and Anna (Czerney) Soltesz in Erie, Pennsylvania where many years later she married J. Robert Wood on September 25th, 1954. Ethel was an Executive Secretary with the DeVillbiss Company for more than 25 years and also a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert Wood and one sister. Ethel is survived by her son, Robert Wood of Northglenn, Colorado; grandchildren, Kelly, Erica and Kyle and one great-granddaughter, Jordyn.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Bruce Snyder. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Emmanuel Baptist Church.
