Esther M. Carter

Esther M. Carter, age 70, went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 11, 2009. She was born April 21, 1939 to Albert and Irene (Hartman) Wagner in Sylvania. Esther was a cook for many years, most recently at the University Of Toledo Medical Center and the Sunset Retirement Home, retiring in 2004. She was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Esther enjoyed crocheting and loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children's father, Robert Tierney, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Esther is survived by her loving children, Debora (Ernest) Trevino, Mark (Christine) Tierney, Michael Tierney, Daniel (Cynthia) Tierney, David (Robin) Tierney and Michelle (Greg) Holewinski; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; special cousin, Jean Hartman; and many other relatives and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1842 Airport Hwy., Toledo with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
