Esther Gilley

Esther Gilley, age 98, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Franciscan Care Center. She was born on February 14, 1914 to Thomas and Marylou (Grogan) Shelton in Twin Rivers, West Virginia. Esther was a longtime member of Villa Heights Baptist Church in Martinsville, Virginia and loved the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Gilley; daughter, JoJane (Gilley) Harris; sisters, Alma Lou Heath, Juanita Hundley and Virginia Martin. Esther is survived by her grandson, Jesse Clyde Harris; nieces, Benita (David) Lykowski, Wendy Leiby, Debra (Charlie) Hosken, Linda (Bobby) Joyce and Mary Lou Yeatts; nephew, Harvey (Bertha) Via; and many great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, Martinsville, Virginia.
