Ernest D. Stickles, age 73, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Heatherdowns Rehabilitation and Residential Care Center. He was born on November 28, 1932 to James and Daisy (Tewell) Stickles in Carmichaels, PA. Ernest was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a millwright for 40 years retiring in 1995. In addition to being a millwright, Ernest worked at Owens Illinois for 30 years and at the University of Toledo for 5 years. He was a very loving and caring person, always lending a hand, and eager to fix something. Ernest loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carole (Grimm) Stickles; children: Deborah and David Stickles; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister: Margaret Ullom.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300) from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
