Ernest D. McCoy

In Memory of Ernest D McCoy January 21,1955 - January16, 2025. Ernest McCoy known to many as “Ernie” passed on January16, 2025 at the age of 69 in his home. Born January 21, 1955 he was a cherished figure in his neighborhood known for his welcoming spirit. He helped who he could and never turned anyone away, making a profound impact on everyone he encountered. Ernest drove trucks as a CDL holder and also served an apprenticeship as an electrician in the construction industry. 

Ernest is survived by children, Dionte Perry, La’Velda Bryson, Maurice Bryson; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and four siblings Queen (Thomas) Stasick, Lucille, Arlene and David McCoy. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews cousins and extended family members. He was preceeded in death by parents Percy Sr. and Lorriane McCoy siblings John Earl, Rodney, Carol and Percy Jr. McCoy. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4: 6-7. 

The family will receive guests Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. At Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, 1502 W. Central Ave. Toledo, OH.
