Erika M. Kempf

Erika M. Kempf, age 68, of Toledo, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 in the Toledo Hospital after a short illness. She was born June 23, 1938 to Gottlieb and Frieda (Jedele) Rauscher in Tuebingen, Germany. Erika immigrated to the USA in 1955 where she met and married her husband Frieder Kempf. Erika was employed with Toledo Public Schools for many years, retiring in 1998. She delighted friends and family with her wonderful German cooking as well as her needlework and gardening skills. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed many friendships through the Toledo Schwaben Verein and the Bavarian Sports Club. Erika and her husband spent many years wintering in Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 49 years, Frieder Kempf; daughter, Cindy (Doug) Lawrence of Toledo; son, Ron (Moira) Kempf of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Emily; Betsy and Patrick Lawrence; brothers, Richard (Elfrieda) and Horst (Karin) Rauscher, both of Germany and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Memorial Service will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
