Emmett Arvin Beebe, age 83, passed away Tuesday, March 19th, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Hobart, Indiana with his loving wife by his side. He was born October 12th, 1929 to William L. and Emma C. (Mathewson) Beebe in Manito, Illinois. Emmett's family moved from Illinois to Ohio when he was younger. He moved to Indiana in 2008 and had remained there until his passing. A Korean War veteran, Emmett was very patriotic and loved his country. He could always be seen wearing an American Flag ball cap, he was proud of his country and what the flag stood for. Emmett worked as a barber in Toledo at the Commodore Perry Hotel and at the Campus Barber Shop near the University of Toledo.
He enjoyed rooting for the Toledo Rocket's and was a season ticket holder for years. His beloved Detroit Tigers were a source of happiness as he would not miss a game and once had the opportunity to meet Sparky Anderson.
Once he retired from barbering, he began wood carving which was a labor of love as his creative abilities came to life in his carvings.
His love for his family and especially his nieces and nephews was a source of pride for him. Never a day passed without stories of him being a beloved Uncle to them.
