Elmer Don Fink, age 93, of Toledo, passed away July 7, 2022 at Browning Masonic Retirement Community. Elmer was born January 16, 1929 in Toledo to David and Letha (Beatty) Fink.
He was a graduate of Libbey High School and went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Elmer worked at Ohio Belting and Transmission Company and Nationwide Belting before starting and operating Springfield Hardware.
In his free time, Elmer enjoyed fishing, gardening, billiards, and golfing. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas to see his daughter. Elmer loved to play cards and listening to Big Band music. He was a pioneer do-it-yourselfer and taught his children that they could do whatever they needed to do themselves.
Left to forever cherish his memory, Lois Wandersee, and his children, Dave (Lorraine) Fink, June (Brian) Day, Mike (Kelly) Fink; grandchildren, Elmer, Wayne (Sarah), Pam (Rob), Willy (Alexa), Michael, Clay (Jillian), Jaden; and great-grandchildren, Westen, Donovan, Gaby, Isaiah, and Arlo.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol Ann (Cousino) Fink.
The family will receive guests Monday, July 18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Browning Masonic Retirement Community in Elmer's memory.
