It is with Love and Sadness that we announce the passing of Ellsworth "Ed" Charles Decko, 67, of Toledo, Ohio, who died suddenly Thursday, December 9th in his home.
He will live on in the hearts and memories of those he is survived by; His three sons; Ian (Samantha) Golbinec, Eli (Hannah Parker) Decko, and Uri (Julie Smith) Decko; his 6 Grandchildren; Theresa, Ruxton, Scarlett, Madisynn, Karson and Artemis; His seven sisters; Jean (Lance) Halsey, Deborah Kent, Patricia Schroeder, Diane (Rick) Grange, La'Donna Bowlin, Jacqueline (Ken) Robedeau, and Kim Williams; his Dear Brother Errol Bailey; a large extended family of nieces, nephews and people who, while not blood related, were loved as his family nonetheless. There are far too many to name individually, but in their hearts there is no doubt as to who they are. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father; Nadine S. and Harold E. Decko; and his son, Graham O. Decko.
Ed was a loving man whose pride was his Family. Our accomplishments were his, as well as our moments of happiness and sadness. He cherished his grandchildren and they brought so much happiness to him in his later years. A musician at heart; he played both Bass and Guitar with a focus and ease brought by a lifetime of experience. He was a master of his craft and his knowledge of theory and ability to play reflected that. Ed was a gearhead and a professional driver, and was known as a "Human GPS". If you were going somewhere in the U.S., he very likely knew the best way.
Following his wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date for any who wish to attend.
