Ellenor R. Mossing

Ellenor R. "Ellen" Mossing, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She was born to Leo and Virginia Simon in Toledo. Ellen was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed music, dancing, sports, and spending time with family and friends. Ellen never met a stranger.

Ellen was an accomplished business woman who operated a resort
on Drummond Island for over 20 years. After selling the resort she
devoted herself as a caregiver for her mother, mother-in-law and
husband over the next 15 years.

The last few years her enjoyment came from spending time with her
Gal Pals. Ellen seemed to be the motivating force behind their numerous social gatherings and activities. Ellen liked to have a good time. She wasn't interested in just sitting around the house.

Ellen also enjoyed a good sale. Another sign of her business prowess.
She was also one of the best Coupon Queens around. You name the
place and chances are she had a coupon ready to go.

Ellen was never bashful. She always had a smile on her face and a
bubbly personality, and enjoyed many long phone conversations with
family and friends. She met many close friends through her regular
attendance at Blessed Sacrament.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mossing; and brother, Donald Simon. Ellen is survived by her loving children, Greg (Cindy) Mossing and Gineene (Roy) Yates; grandchildren, Roy III (Jessica) and Erin Yates; great-grandson, Roy, IV; sister, Sharon Havener; sister-in-law, Glenda Simon; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., Toledo. The Newcomer Funeral Home – NW Chapel (419-473473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
