Ellen M. Burmeister, 68, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2014. She was born on January 14, 1946 to the late Alice and Walter Grasser in Toledo, Ohio.
Ellen retired from Hickory Farms after 31 years. She was a 1964 graduate of Bowsher High School. Ellen enjoyed relaxing with family and "lake family" at her cottage on Marble Lake in Quincy, Michigan. She loved animals, especially giraffes and she adored her pet skunks. Ellen's family will miss her outgoing and spunky personality.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Burnett. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 32 years, David; daughter, Barbara Adamski; siblings, Alice Small and Chuck; grandchildren, Nick and Alexandria Adamski.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 11:30-2:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to: Heartland Hospice.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of Ellen's "Lake Family and Friends."
