Elizabeth Marie Richter, lovingly known as "Beth," departed this world on April 14, 2025, with a heart full of love and memories woven intricately into the fabric of her life. Born on July 16, 1962, in Toledo, Ohio, Elizabeth’s journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to the values she cherished. Her laughter was infectious & she persevered through every battle with such a warrior spirit.
Elizabeth dedicated herself to her role in Customer Service at Blue Ridge Associates ESOP, where she made a profound impact and was recently promoted. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and commitment. She was not just a professional; she was a confidante, a listener, and a friend to all who crossed her path. Outside of her work, she found joy in history, travel, and creating cherished memories with her children and grandchildren, whose laughter and love were the lifeblood of her existence. She was absolutely all about her granddaughter Amaya and loved their little adventures they would take together from Noah’s Ark Old Man’s Cave to their Loveland Castle visit.
Our next adventure was supposed to be this coming June in Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side she would say), so meet us their mom.
United in love, Elizabeth shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, David Richter, a bond that spanned many years filled with love and partnership. Together, they created a sanctuary of warmth and welcomed life’s adventures. Their love story was one of mutual respect, laughter, and endless support, defining the very essence of family for Elizabeth.
Her academic journey saw her attending Maumee high school in Maumee, Ohio, after which she pursued further education at Lourdes college in Sylvania, Ohio and proudly obtained her Bachelor’s degree. Elizabeth was a lifelong learner, embodying the belief that knowledge is a treasure to carry throughout one’s life.
Beyond her immediate family, Elizabeth was proud to be an active member of the Elizabeth Sherman Reese Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Union Veterans - Lizabeth A. Turner Chapter, and the Daughters of the Confederacy - Dixie 1546 Chapter. Her commitment to these organizations reflected her deep love for history and heritage, a passion she carried with grace and pride.
In addition to her accomplishments, Elizabeth’s military recognition as a recipient of the Ohio Commendation Medal highlighted her dedication and service to her community, shaping her character and her purpose.
Elizabeth leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, David Richter; her daughter, Stephanie Blake; her son, Brandon Blake; her step-daughters, Ciara Richter and Elyse (James) Hopkins; her grandchildren, Amaya Palacios and Giavonna Hopkin. Each of them carries a part of Elizabeth within their hearts, ensuring her legacy of love, resilience, and joy will endure through generations.
She now reunites with her dear parents, Allen Huss and Mary Jane (Glennon) Huss, who welcomed her with open arms into their eternal embrace, surrounding her with the love she so readily gave to others.
Elizabeth's memory will be cherished and celebrated at the visitation on April 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Toledo, and during a heartfelt Mass on April 28, 2025, at St. Joe Parish in Maumee at 10:30 AM. As we gather together to honor her remarkable life, we will remember the laughter, the stories, and the unconditional love that defined Elizabeth Marie Richter – a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a true friend to many. Her journey may have come to an end, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved.
