Elizabeth Rose Milling

Elizabeth "Betty" Rose Milling, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 at the age of age 83 at StoryPoint Senior Living in Waterville, OH.
Betty is survived by her beloved companion of 30 years, Robert Manning, her children, Stephen Carroll and Kristin Carroll, her Grandson, Peter Carroll, and cousins Mark (Lorrie Kitchen) Hunter and Gregg Hunter. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by former husbands, Charles P. Carroll, III and Donald K. Milling, as well as her stepson Dennis Milling.
Betty was born August 10, 1937 in Toledo to the late Antonio and Josephine (Jurkiewicz) Pellegrino. She attended Notre Dame High School and St. Vincent's Nursing School, setting herself up for a career as a Registered Nurse. She proceeded to work at a number of area doctor's offices, and she impacted the lives of many young Gen Xers during her tenure as the school nurse at Christ the King School during the years her children attended.
Betty was a devoted Mom and avid gardener. In her later years she stayed active by volunteering at St. Vincent's Hospital and with Mobile Meals. She loved to travel - both in the US and throughout Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean-with her favorite trip being the one she took to Spain with Bob. She had a special talent for making the best Christmas cookies which were highly requested by children across the ages. She will be sorely missed.
A Memorial mass will take place at a later, post-COVID-19 date at Christ the King Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home; 4150 W. Laskey, Toledo (419)473-0300.
