Elizabeth A. Varnes

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Varnes, age 69, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Darlington House. She was born on March 13, 1939 to Francis and Gloria (Mitchell) Hart in Watertown, New York. Betty was employed with Brock Greenhouse as a transplanter for over 30 years before retiring. She was an avid wrestling fan. Betty loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, especially taking walks in the park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Varnes. Betty is survived by her loving sons, Marvin (Sherry), Gary (Kelly) and Mark (Rachelle) Varnes; grandchildren, Melissa, Brittany and Sean Varnes and Kristin Turner; and sisters, Holly (Tom) and Mollie.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
