Eleanore J. Mattson

September 1, 1933 — December 29, 2017

Our darling mother, Eleanore Jane Mattson, age 84, passed in her Bowling Green home to life eternal on December 29, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1933 to the late Stella and Raymond Powell in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Her life and legacy are captured best by how deeply and faithfully she loved her family and her greatest work was being a mother. Mom was also a school bus driver, a nanny, a caregiver and she volunteered at the Maumee Sunshine Children's Home. She cherished her friends and loved her New Jersey ocean, her English tea, cardinals and Christmas. She sang beautifully and prayed fervently. Mom loved Jesus and kept her faith in hard trials. Her family will always honor her life, sacrifices and memory and she shines in our hearts forever.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Cynthia (Albert Mering) Mattson, Karen Wilson, Susan (Jack) Williams, Melissa (Dan) Garcia and Raymond Mattson; daughter-in-law, Lori Mattson; brother, Gerald Powell; grandchildren, Phillip (Julie) Kazmaier, Jackie Williams, Katie Lebo, Corey Mattson, Rachel Mattson, Michael Mattson & Stephanie Michalski; great-grandchildren, Kody, Kristopher, Kayla, Ellie, Izzy and Evie. Eleanore was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond; son, Michael Mattson, brothers, Raymond, Donald, Robert, John; sister, Bonnie and grandson, Christopher Smith.

There will be no public service. Memorials may be made to Grace Hospice, 1900 Indian Wood Circle, Suite 202A, Maumee, OH 43537.
