Eleanor Soldatek

Eleanor M. Soldatek, age 85, of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 at Village at Wolfcreek. She was born July 5, 1922 to Lester and Matie (Kasten) Lake in Toledo. Eleanor was employed with the former Tiedtke's, Lamsons and Montgomery Wards department stores for more than 25 years. She was a member of "Tiedtke's Old Timer's" group and a longtime parishioner of Lutheran Church of Our Savior. Eleanor enjoyed arts and crafts, playing bingo and cards and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Gervas Soldatek; several brothers; one sister and great grandson, Zachery. She is survived by her children, Patricia Schulz; Gary Soldatek; Dennis (Elizabeth) Soldatek and Gervas (Sylvia) Soldatek; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and siblings, Vernon (Sandy) Lake and Leola "Mickey" Draeger.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 2820 W. Alexis Rd. Officiating will be Pastor Richard O. Sauerlender. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at East Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Memorial Fund with Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
