Elaine A. Toth-Courtney, age 78, of Findlay, passed away, Tuesday, August 28th, surrounded by loving family. She was born on April 21, 1934 to Winfield T. and M. Marie (Davis) Hoffsis in North Baltimore, Ohio. Elaine was very devout in her faith and was a former member of Toledo Baptist Temple and currently of Trinity Baptist Church in Findlay. She enjoyed word find puzzles. Elaine had a heart of gold and loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Toth; second husband, Clyde Courtney; daughter, Carolyn Ellis; and brothers, Howard and Roger Hoffsis. Elaine is survived by her loving children, Cathy (John) Valentine, Donna (Larry) Griffith, Gale L. Toth and Jim (Johanna) Toth; grandchildren, Jonathan, Elisa, Crystal, Benjamin, John, Christy and Jerry; 4 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Yong Toth; siblings, Earl Hoffsis, Grace Hogan, Jim Hoffsis, George (Gloria) Hoffsis and Helen Bretz; sister-in-law, Joanne Diaz; cousins, Joanne Shaffer and Lois (Bob) Drake; 3 step-children and their families; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Coley, of Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
