Edwin V. Griesinger

Edwin V. Griesinger, age 77, of Toledo, passed away peacefully March 31, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 5, 1944 in Dayton, OH to Delbert and Betty (Stephenson) Griesinger. Edwin was a 1963 graduate of Maumee High School. He worked 30+ years for Lucas County Children Services as a maintenance man, he also enjoyed doing side work as a handy man. Edwin married his high school sweetheart Joann (Owen) on January 4, 1964, who preceded him in death September 1992. He remarried on May 17, 1997 to Karen (Kent), who also preceded him in death May 2021. Edwin enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, old western movies and any kind of Olympic sport. He loved to tell "dad jokes" and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved camping at Silver Lake in Angola, IN and Pirolli Park in Petersburg, MI.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dawn (Dean) Watson, Tammy (Jon) Gilreath, Amy Armstrong and Terry (Wendy) Owen.

Grandchildren, Kelly (Lincoln) Fox, Ashley Watson, Zachary (Amanda) Watson, Stephanie (Chad Fitch) Gilreath, Brittany Owen, Felicia (JJ) Beiser and Melanie Owen.

Great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Taylor, Kaylee Fox, Brooklyn Taylor, Michelle Watson, Abigail Fox, Nora Owen, Colton Beiser, Gianna Fitch and Mya Fitch.

Siblings, Roger Griesinger and Lois Atkins; sisters-in-laws, Sandra (Wayne) Tinkle, Gloria (Gary) Sigurdson and Laura Ellinwood and many extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria Medellin and Lester Griesinger; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Sheperd.

Edwin will be greatly missed by wonderful friends that became family; Bill Siebert and the entire Wagner family.

The family will receive guests, Friday, April 8, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial Services will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association in Edwin's memory.
