Edwin E. "Eddie" "Sonny" Eyre, 75, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 with his loving wife, Anne, by his side. He was born on November 10, 1945 to Edwin and Irene of Holland, OH. Eddie attended Holland High School. He worked at City Auto Stamping, Dana for 18 years and retired from Jeep after 23 years. Eddie loved working on cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, buses or whatever he could come up with, you name it. He spent a lot of time in his barn working on stuff. Eddie always had at least one project going at any given time. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Eddie's memory are his loving wife of almost 57 years, Anne Eyre; children, Kenneth (Christine) Eyre, Pennie Eyre-Fawcett and Leonard (Sara) Eyre; grandchildren, Randy (Brittany), Conner, Kassidy, Addison and Cody; sisters, Donna Bloom and Joan Rooks; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Eyre; sisters, Jane Grabowski-Kittle and Edwina Jo; brothers-in-law, Hank Grabowski, George Rooks, and Howard Bloom.
Graveside Services will take place Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH (meet at the front gates by 12:50 p.m. of the cemetery and we will process back together). Newcomer Funeral Home, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
