Edward M. Sedlar

October 26, 1927 — March 21, 2017

Edward Sedlar, age 89, of Erie, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017 at Heartland at ProMedica with his loving family by his side. He was born on Flint, Michigan on October 26, 1927. Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta (Reed) Sedlar.

Ed proudly served his country in WWII as a sergeant in the Philippines. He worked at the Monroe County Road Commission for over 20 years before retiring. Edward married the love of his life, Loretta (Reed) Sedlar on July 9, 1949. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward loved fishing, outdoors, tinkering in his garage and smoking fish. His family will remember him for being a hard worker, a great provider for his family and a humble gentleman. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; you will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Howard (Kim) Sedlar; Caroline Truby, Loretta (Tom) Mondville and Carol Parriet; grandchildren, Dale Truby, Tom Mondville, Chelsea (Joe) Mcglashan, David (Brittany) Gibson, Chris Parriet, Danielle (Steven) Gibson and Savannah Sedlar; great-grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Aleayah, Alex and Lilly; his loving dog, Toy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

There will be no visitation or services for Ed per his request. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date.
