Edward M. Scherer
June 22, 1918 — August 25, 2012
Edward Scherer, a lifelong Toledo resident, retired from the Tremainsville Road DuPont Fabric & Finishes Plant in 1978. He travelled extensively, including visits to relatives in Gadsden, AL, contributed to Boy Scouts, and was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a long time member of Adams Conservation Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Katherine (Metzger) and Martin John Scherer. Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean (Kesler); son and daughter in law, Bruce Edward and Cathy Lynn (Zenz) Scherer; and grandchildren, Ryan Edward and Kelsey Marie Scherer.
There will be no visitation or services for Ed, per his wishes. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
