On January 11, 2016, Edward lee, age 75, of Toledo, passed away at Genesis Healthcare after receiving Hospice Care and a long courageous battle with numerous illnesses.
Edward was born on November 24, 1940 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Amos and Nequila (Davis) Lee. He attended Spencer Sharples Schools in Swanton. Edward received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He was employed for over 25 years at Clean Wear. He also had an avid passion of working on cars and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion of over 40 years, Norma Jean; brothers, Elmer, L.A., Amos, John and Elmer Lee, all of Toledo.
Edward had no children and leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, Thomas (Izetta) Lee, of Toledo and Howard (Jeanine) Lee, of Detroit, MI; sisters, Ora McNeal, Nequilla (Mark) Nargas, Jan Latimer, of Toledo and Alice Gumtow, of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Family Hour/Wake will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Cecil Jerome Graham. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
