Edward L. Johnson, age 78, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born January 30, 1929 to William and Rubye (Meredith) Johnson in Toledo. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Edward and his wife Theresa moved to Elmore, Ohio where they raised their family and formed many memorable friendships. Edward was employed as a cement mason through Local 886 for 60 years.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Johnson and brothers, Bill; Troy; Bob; Jack and Ronnie. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Theresa (Rybak) Johnson; children, Edward (Jeanette) Johnson, Jr.; Melody Johnson; Christopher (Ruth) Johnson; William Johnson; Meredith Johnson and Andrew (Laura) Johnson; 24 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Newman; Mona Eckhardt; Alice Guy and Regina Cook.
The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
