Edward J. "Ed" Lorigan, age 93, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born on April 2, 1922 to John James and Daisy Mae (Clifton) Lorigan in Toledo, Ohio. Ed proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy as an electrician. For a greater part of his life Ed was an electrician, having worked for Lake Front Docks and was a 50 year member of the I.B.E.W. Local #8. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards and taking trips to Las Vegas, woodworking in his garage and taking his beloved dogs for walks.
In addition to his parents, Edward was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Lorigan; one sister and four brothers. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 75 years, Phyllis J. (Stone) Lorigan; children, Nanci Jordan (Whitey), Kathleen Lorigan, Michael (Wanda) Lorigan, Daniel (Jeanine) Lorigan, Margaret (Kevin) Sullivan and Patricia (Chris) Turley; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Rosemary Knack.
The family will receive guests on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon David Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
