Edward G. Ornelas

Edward G. "Eddie" Ornelas, age 64, of Toledo, joined his parents in Heaven on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 14, 1949 to Alejos M. and Tomasa G. (Garcia) Ornelas in Curtice, Ohio. Eddie worked for Chrysler-Jeep for 35 1/2 years as a die-setter, retiring on October 31, 2003. He had a passion for art and was particularly talented when it came to painting and drawing. In his spare time he enjoyed billiards and was in a few different billiard leagues throughout Toledo, loved watching television, especially M.A.S.H. and rooting for his favorite Michigan Wolverines. Most important to Eddie was his family and spending time with them.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Theresa (Marquez) Ornelas; children, Jamie (Jimmy) Ornelas, Kelly Ornelas, Katie Ornelas; step-sons, James (Nora) Kennelly and Robert (Margaret) Kennelly; grandchildren, Carter, Grace, Tino, Selmo, Santi and Little Bob; siblings, David (Marlene), Henry, and Geneva (Ken); niece, Cathy Ornelas; many other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.

Eddie's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Fresenius Dialysis (Central Ave.) and Gentiva Hospice for the love and care that they provided to him, especially to Nancy.
