Edward Charles Hauden, age 90, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2016. He was born on December 18, 1925 to the late Marie and Edward Hauden.
He attended the University of Toledo. Ed was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Phoenix in the Pacific. He was able to go on the Honor Flight to Washington DC. Ed retired as a Purchasing Manager for American Lincoln after 39 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he continued working part-time well into his 80s. Ed was a member of St. Rose Parish in Perrysburg, American Legion Post 28 and VFW 6170. He enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard. Ed also loved bowling and umpiring softball. He enjoyed his many trips to Europe and Hawaii. Ed looked forward to family get-togethers, especially holidays and birthday celebrations.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 69 years, Delores "De"; children, Sandra (Rick) Kern, Jeff (Marianne) Hauden and Jim Hauden; grandson, Cort Kern; sister-in-law, Vivian (Gene) Mishka; nephews, Bill (Ann) and Tom (Jennifer) Mishka; brother-in-law, John Sloop and other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his half-brother, George (Blanche) Diemond.
The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
