Edward G. Binkelman, Jr.

Edward G. "Ed" Binkelman, Jr., age 87, of Lambertville, MI, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania with his loving family by his side. He was born March 22, 1930 to George and Ruth (Schermack) Binkelman in Detroit, MI. Ed graduated from DeVilbiss High School and then went on to Officers Candidate School (OCS). He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in the Korean War. After war, he went to flight school and then to Germany where he met his wife of almost 61 years, Sigrid Wanner. Upon returning home in 1957 he joined his father in business and became President of Binkelman Bearings Inc. which he ran until he retired in 1985.

Ed was a longtime member of the Lions Club and the American Legion Post 0335. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling, golfing, and loved dogs. Ed loved to fly planes and travel with his wife. He liked to take the grandchildren camping. Ed had many other interests he liked to dabble in.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Sigrid Binkelman; daughters, Lynn (Bob) Colwell and Nancy (Ray) Fisher; grandchildren, Justin, Kristin, Nicholas and Christopher; and feline companion, Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many beloved pets.

There will be no visitation or services per Ed's wishes. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
