Edmund Dopieralski

Edmund "Ed" Dopieralski, age 94, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born June 17, 1924 to Walter and Elizabeth Dopieralski in Cleveland, Ohio. Ed was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Resurrection Parish of the Polish National Catholic Church. Ed was a diehard Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed dancing, woodworking and was a gifted craftsman. Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Kuczewicz; brothers, Richard and Henry Dopieralski. Ed is survived by his loving wife of near 69 years, Edie Dopieralski; children, E. Michael (Marcia) Dopieralski, Patrick G. Dopieralski and Elizabeth Shumaker; grandchildren, Carin (Sameer), Lauren, Patrick (Ashley), Katie (Aaron), Kristen, Kara, Christopher (Stephenie), Amanda and Cody; great-grandchildren, twins Riley& Reese, Madeleine, Halie, Lyliana, Kaidence, Brennan, Connor, Bowen, Barrett, Ariana, Austin, Mariah, Alivia, Austyn and Caleb; sister, Adele Gispanski; former daughter-in-law, Paula Cumpian; former son-in-law & Tim Horton's Buddy, Ed Shumaker along with his brother Tom; and nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
