Edith Steger

Edith T. Steger, age 90, departed this earth, Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Whitehouse Country Manor after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born February 16, 1917 to Mauro and Grace (Greco) Polito in Washington, Pennsylvania. Edith was a life long resident of Toledo and member of Christ the King Church.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Louis Steger; and siblings, Louise Lucarelli; Adeline Hider; Elvie Crescitelli; Joseph Polito and James Polito. She is survived by her children, Ron (Carole) Steger; Gloria Steger and Greg Steger; grandchildren, Andrea; Benjamin and Amy and great grandchildren, Jacob; Halie and Kayla.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary contributions made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Northwest Ohio Chapter.
