Edith Eitniear

Edith "Toots" Eitniear, age 92, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at Sunset Village and Nursing Facility in Sylvania. One of nine children, Toots was born March 11th, 1919 to Otho and Minnie (Deweiss) Smith in Gallipolis, Ohio. She married Kenneth Eitniear on November 22nd, 1947. Toots enjoyed making all crafts and especially quilting, she shared many of her creations with her family. She was very selfless, always taking care of her family and putting their needs before hers. Toots' family enjoyed her cooking, she hosted and prepared many of the holiday dinners for them over the years. She was an avid collector of cow and owl memorabilia. Toots will be dearly missed by her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish the memories they shared with their grandma.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 6 brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Kenneth Eitniear; children, Jim (Billie Wolff) Eitniear, Judy (Herman) Hoerig, Roger (Rita) Eitniear and Joy (Rick) Yore; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild on-the-way.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
