Edith J. Dopieralski

Edith J. "Edie" Dopieralski, age 93, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on September 18, 1927 to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn McFillen in Perrysburg, OH. Edie worked as a bookkeeper throughout her career, retiring after many years, most recently from In & Out Marts. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. Edie enjoyed cooking and mahjong puzzles. She looked forward to any time spent with her family, most importantly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edie's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Ed Dopieralski; and all of her siblings. Left to cherish Edie's memory are her loving children, E. Michael (Marcia) Dopieralski, Patrick G. Dopieralski and Elizabeth Shumaker; grandchildren, Carin (Sameer), Lauren, Patrick (Ashley), Katie (Aaron), Kristen, Kara, Christopher (Stephenie), Amanda and Cody; great-grandchildren, twins Riley & Reese, Madeleine, Halie, Lyliana, Kaidence, Brennan, Connor, Bowen, Barrett, Ariana, Austin, Mariah, Alivia, Austyn, Caleb, Mackenzie, and Morgan Rae; niece, Debbie Hahn; former daughter-in-law, Paula Cumpian; former son-in-law, Ed Shumaker; and nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300), on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, where her memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
