Edith C. Irwin

Edith C. Irwin, age 81, of Toledo, Ohio passed Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 12, 1932 in Toledo to Edgar and Opal (Welch) Henning. Edith was an extraordinary cook and dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Eddy Guthrie, John (Meredyth) Tilton, Donna Lee, Peggie Gilkerson, Michael Kitchen, Faye Kitchen, Fred Kitchen and Denise Watson; 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; siblings, June Couch, Terry (Pat) Henning, Mary Zeiter, Larry (Sandy) Henning, Jean (Steve) Miller, Robert (Linda) Wiemer, Karen (Mike) Blair, Tom Wiemer and David Jake. In addition to her parents Edith was preceded in death by her husbands, daughter, Linda Guthrie; son, Bruce Kitchen; grandson, Danny MCCrum and brother, Edgar Henning, Jr.

The family will receive guests Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Sharing of Memories Service will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to ProMedica Hospice.
