ROSE Edgar L. Rose, 79, of Toledo, died January 26, 2012, in his home surrounded by his family. Ed was born to Wilson Rose and Thelma (Patterson) Rose on December 23, 1932. He was a graduate of Risingsun High School and attended the University of Toledo. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a medical corpsman. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own business in Toledo called Control Service Company. Later, he established Computer Support Corp., Hi-Tech Environments and Climatic Systems, LLC. He was a Christian and loved to tell others of God's saving grace through Jesus Christ. He never knew a stranger. Everyone he met was his friend and said so. He was a member of The Gideons and attended church at Abundant Life Ministries in Temperance, Mich.
His parents; brother, Wilson Rose, Jr. and grandson, Austin Stokes preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Reba (Sosbe) Rose; children, Christine (Daniel) Jackson, Jan (Tim) Gadus and Michael (Jared) Rose; grandchildren, Heather Backmeier Rohn, Autumn Lee and Ryan Lee; great-granddaughter, Arely Lee; brother, William Rose and stepmother, Edith Rose.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 Laskey Rd. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, The Gideons International or Abundant Life Ministries in Temperance, Mich.
