Eddie Lee Toles, Jr., age 79, of Swanton, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1933 to Eddie Sr. and Anna (Campbell) Toles in Monroe, Michigan. Eddie was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Eddie retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. He was the past secretary of the UAW Local #1892, was the former chair person over the retirees and a representative for Health and Safety. Eddie also use to teach at Davis College. He enjoyed motorcycles and old cars, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, JoEllen Toles; brother, Patrick Toles and sister, Anna Margaret. Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Marilyn Toles; children, Marlene Toles, Darlene Toles, Regina (LeRoy) Pickett and Kimberly Toles; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlie (Annelle), Nelson, Halbert and Helen Toles; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Scripture Services at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 6149 Hill Ave., Toledo. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Michigan.
