Earnest L. Burnette, Sr. age 70, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 28th, 1939 to Roy & Myrtle Burnette in Mt. Hope, WV. For 55 years, Earnest was a master in the Tool & Dye Industry. He was a NASCAR fan for many years following Darrel Waltrip & Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Earnest was a classic car enthusiast & built several cars over the years including his favorite 1950 Chopped Mercury known as the "Rebel".
Earnest was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce Burnette; loving children; daughters June Koch, Yvonne (Ty) Burnette; sons Robert (Cathy) Burnette, Earnest (Debby) Burnette Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Joan Bischoff; Annabelle (Robert) Gardner; brother Raymond Burnette; sister-in-law Delores (Forest) Heminger.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 9:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
If desired, the family would like to have donations made towards Earnest's great-granddaughter Sarah Grace Ayers to help with her medical expenses.
