Durlene M. Lawrence

Durlene M. Lawrence, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born May 16th, 1935 to Robert and Madeline (Shoemaker) Kurtz in McComb, Ohio. Durlene was employed with The Toledo Hospital for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing and caring for her family. Holidays were special times filled with many happy memories. Durlene was an animal lover who enjoyed caring for her many cats over the years. She was also a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Most importantly Durlene was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, cherishing the times spent with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Durlene is survived by her children, Cheryll; Douglas (Cindy); Christy and Andrew Lawrence; grandchildren, Andrea and Gregory Preciado; Emily; Elizabeth; Patrick; Lindsay and Kelsey Lawrence; sister, Anita (Cork) Hile of Belding, MI; brother, Kevin (Molly) Kurtz of Durango, CO and many extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) to share memories.

The family would like to thank the staff of Northwest Ohio Hospice for the loving care and support they provided for Durlene.
