Douglas J. Hertz

Douglas J. "Doug" Hertz, age 52, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was born on February 26, 1966 to Harold and Susan (McClellan) Hertz in Toledo. Doug graduated from Whitmer High School in 1984. He was a longtime member of Riverview Yacht Club. He loved being on the water and boating. Doug enjoyed drawing, woodworking, and working on high-end stereos. He relaxed by watching movies and listening to music. Doug spent a lot of time with his dad throughout his life. He loved to spend time with all his family, especially his nieces, furry nieces and nephews; who will all deeply miss him.

Doug is survived by his loving dad, Harold Hertz; siblings, Theresa Hertz, David (Susan) Hertz and Barbara Hertz; nieces, Amanda (Christopher) Walter and Elizabeth Hertz; great-niece, Brynn; uncle, Michael (Sara) McClellan; and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mom.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the "Homer Fund" through Home Depot or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
