Douglas “Doug” John Boham, age 66, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 4, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. Douglas was born April 5, 1958 in Toledo to John and Eleanor (MacPhie) Boham.
A proud graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 1976, Doug valued education and community engagement throughout his life. Doug's career spanned several decades in telecommunications, where he made significant contributions during his tenure with Cincinnati Bell and a few others, through Mercy Health. His commitment to his work was evident, and retiring, he continued to stay active by assisting with flower deliveries for Bartz Viviano, a testament to his generous spirit and willingness to serve his community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Doug had a profound love for the outdoors. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and find tranquility. The ocean held a special place in his heart, and he often found solace while relaxing on the beaches of Siesta Key and Tampa Bay, where the waves and sunsets became a beloved part of his experience.
Doug is remembered fondly by those who knew him as a kind soul with a passion for life and a warm smile that brightened the room. As we reflect on Doug's journey, we celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the cherished moments that will forever remain in our hearts.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his daughter, Courtney (Matthew) Sanchez; three grandchildren, Jensen, Tristan, and Aly; siblings, Paula Wayne and Janelle Esposito; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Boham, whom he married on September 11, 1981.
