Dorothy Sommers
Dorothy M. Sommers, age 90, of Sylvania, passed away Monday, October 9, 2006 in Flower Hospital. She was born February 5, 1916 to Joseph and Mae (Gary) Stewart in Toledo. Dorothy taught music at Penguin Music for several years. She also played the banjo with an all-girl band called "Dot & the Polka Dots" as well as a Dixie Band. Dorothy was a member of the Banjo Club of Toledo and a former member of Reformation Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Sommers and brother, Roger Stewart. She is survived by her loving sons, Dean A. Sommers and Jerry Stewart and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or services. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
